Also, enough with this 'rise of the populists' bollocks. That 'around 4 million people will always vote for the anti-immigration party' looks pretty solid to me. And it's well under 10% of the electorate.

This is true. And while they'd been polling at an 18% share of the vote, they ended up with only 15%. If anything, they've underperformed - especially considering that many Tory voters, as sick to death of the last government as everyone, voted for them in protest but probably won't do so again.
