Oof, I get that. My recommendation is to get a towel, as in actual cloth, and DAB, not rub, your eyes when the tearing gets too much. This is basically the only thing I get to work consistently from the flare-ups I've gotten over the years.

And resist the temptation to use eyedrops, unless specifically prescribed by your doctor. The popular brands actually make the problem worse, not better.
