As someone who works in news media: yes and no. Media types really want to appear to appear smarter than everyone else, and so will adopt unpopular and controversial positions because they upset the most people, and if they are upsetting people, they must be right.

I don't think it would have made a difference even if he did. The questions of mental competency aren't based on anything real: people are making a lot of hay about an old man with a known speech impediment is slow. If it was anyone else, saying they lack mental capacity would be mean.

Oof, I get that. My recommendation is to get a towel, as in actual cloth, and DAB, not rub, your eyes when the tearing gets too much. This is basically the only thing I get to work consistently from the flare-ups I've gotten over the years.

I've says as much longer ago. Most of the AI bros don't know this because most users are using it without cost, but media genetators are operating at huge losses and there really isn't a good way to make the tech cheaper. The tech doesn't make sense economically.

The string of horrible furry media coverage in the early 2000s didn't exist in a vacuum. It was part of a massive post-9/11 push for jingoism and "normalcy" on TV. So everybody "different" or "marginal" would be portrayed as a villain or be made the target of mockery. Hence furry marginalization.
