Agreed on that. I think expressways are the one type of road that pedestrians should just stay off of. All other roads should be designed better for pedestrians, and there should be safe ways (bridges/underpasses) for pedestrians to bypass expressways. Failure was both individual driver & systemic.

I think there are circumstances where a poorly placed or planned speed camera could be detrimental. Like if it results in people slamming the breaks and potentially causing accidents. Yes, granted they should not be going that fast, but you need to consider all consequences not just intended.

When lights work a certain way that is designed to minimize accidents, and you change it so that people get more tickets instead, you are ipso facto saying that a higher rate of accidents is worth it to increase the rate of tickets (revenue). Yellow lights should be timed based on safety.
