Important: If you are in North Carolina, please keep wearing your mask! The bill has not been signed into law yet. And while the language makes it easier for cops to abuse it, the bill does keep the right to mask to stop the spread of contagious disease.

The narrowing of the health exemption and the broadening of language permitting unmasking demands is intended to have a chilling effect and scare people into not wearing masks. This is a common right wing tactic. It is critical to resist and affirm your right to wear a mask.
