So much of what we know about Trump's criminality and corruption came from criminal investigations of his officials. That won't happen again. Roberts will make some infinite regress quip and waggishly declare that Trump v. U.S. requires "immunity all the way down."

There is also every reason to think that this court will expand Trump v. U.S in his second term to extend immunity to those doing his bidding. I.e., “Our holding in Trump v. U.S. demands that government officials be able to enact the will of the executive without fear of criminal proceedings.”

I get the concern that the NYT will just stay the course on Harris, but she would have a chance to drown them in content to change the narrative. Biden has been reacting to the news cycle, instead of shaping it, for the past year. The void gives the NYT, et al. more space for their grudge content.

Attorneys in privileged legal positions, i.e Biglaw, also need to stop normalizing authoritarianism in the name of “collegiality.” Name your Federalist Society colleagues. Detail any work they performed to undermine democratic norms and institutions. Normalize the defense of democracy instead.

PC Gamer: A great game let down by issues with enemy AI. Too many opponents just stand there without displaying any semblance of tactics. Unfortunately, the game also features repetitive and unimaginative boss battles, exemplified by Brett Stephens in the Neoconamancer level.

The article’s thesis is entirely predicated on a post from a Twitter account with 360 followers. It was journalistic malpractice for the oped editors to have selected it on that basis alone. But they also let it run with this absurd statement trying to reframe a legal question. Shame on them.

“Homicide: New York” on Netflix is a great example of how lackluster even the most elite detectives are at solving crimes. The show is meant to aggrandize the detectives, but every episode is like “then the leads went cold, but a coincidence years later led a different detective to the killer.”
