Also fun fact, I started all of the portrait doodles with these weird shapes and then built everything else on top of them. Not my usual approach, but I just wanted to have fun with silhouettes. Lucanis's mullet was already claiming all of the volume even at this point 😂

The hilarity that I just ended up recreating some of my OCs doesn't escape me... I think this is the first time in like 10 years that I just sat down to doodle. Had to even make a sketching brush because all I usually use for thumbnails and stuff is hard round with no pen pressure

And as an extra, a refined sketch and a very very early one This was the first bigger piece I painted in a long while so starting it was really intimidating. I also initially wanted to go for something more stylized but the snail in my ear telling me to paint all reflections won

Face is mostly done so I'll be quiet in the outfit and wings rendering trenches for a while, it was nice being able to touch grass 😔 Might darken the skin tone just a smidge once I get back to this and have a second look, it could be a tad too light at this point

Aaaaah I'm just now noticing the bi vibes with the colors!! It is so fitting 😂 And it def reads like a night time-y scene, like in older movies where they'd use colder tones rather than darkness! Also the way you drew his silly tiny waist is now my ref for it, you did it so well 😭😭

I just had to go with something purple since it's already there with the wings!! And if there's anything that jumps out at you I'd love to hear it! I'm mostly struggling with figuring out how the heck his face would look with a more neutral expression
