Tonight's film: Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes. How often does your monkey think about the Roman Empire? This takes a while to get to the really interesting bits (read: Proximus' whole bag), but by the end, it's as thematically rewarding as the best of this mad, mad franchise.

Very much enjoyed the big Season 24 energy of the Doctor Who double bill. Supposedly serious people will call "panto" but there's a renewed grit and purpose underneath all of its fantabulous nonsense. Next week looks more my speed, but this is loads of fun too!
