I think you’re underestimating what the Roberts court just did — and also what it signaled. They are all in for making Republican presidents fully autocrats. It’s a dual project: presidentialism and juristocracy. It’s scary as heck. No?

The NY state conviction is dead, and Merchan knows it— his sentencing delay order implies he’s waiting for vacate on appeal. SCOTUS has taken all official acts out of evidence. Convictions on anything will be hard
