Okay. I ate three of these in three minutes and twenty seconds, the length of "Eat It" by Weird Al. The winner, who of course was Scott Egelberg, ate seven. However I got a gift certificate for two sandwiches and a shirt!

I feel like the complete tale of this contest needs to include the woman who came out with a handmade sign reading “The Sloppy Joe Ho” and then proceeded to eat exactly one sloppy joe slowly and almost daintily? Like she literally had her pinky up whilst eating and was completely unbothered.

they also were like "okay carry the platters off the stage" and when we got off they were like "you can take those home or hand them out to the crowd, whatever" and I gave away like twenty sandwich segments and ate another myself
