Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sold 20.6M units and Super Mario Wonder 13.4M. That's impressive but evergreen Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold 8.2M last fiscal year and are up to 62M in life-time sales. Switch sold 15.7M consoles last FY and life-time is at 141M. High attach for Mario Kart!

The best-selling games in Sweden 20 years ago in 2004. Counter-Strike is dominating. Metroid: Zero Mission makes a rare appearance for a GBA game on the top 20. Backpacker 3 is the sequel to the local hit franchise. And plenty of The Sims expansions further down the chart.

Learnt 3 facts about age ratings for games today: 1. Taiwan is not covered by IARC, need to submit your game to GSRMR (easy and self-service). 2. In South Korea, games rated 18 by IARC, must obtain a rating from GRAC. 3. Games 16+ or higher can't be made available free in Germany (USK).

Ten years ago Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons won Game of the Year at the Swedish award show Dataspelgalan. What a journey Josef Fares and Hazelight done since then with A Way Out and It Takes Two. The latter winning Game of the Year at The Game Awards and selling 16M copies.

Alan Wake 2 is brilliant. I’m nearing the end and what a journey it been with a stunning story and an amazing atmosphere. When it became too intense, I took a break and played some Return to Grace to calm down and explore without being afraid.

This was overstock games from Canada around 1996-1997. He had already imported a lot of SNES NTSC RPG:s so saw an opportunity to buy NES games from the same vendors as the NES games dried up and there were still a lot of active NES players in the Swedish homes.

My memory of this is bonking into the walls. Bought rebuilt versions from NTSC to PAL of this and Final Fantasy, Bonk’s Adventure and a couple of other games. Was Wingefors’ old company Nordic Games that imported and rebuilt them.

Visited Spel & Sånt, one of the last specialist game stores in Sweden. Right now they have a nice Nintendo exhibition with Bergsala and Club Nintendo memorabilia, prototype carts, dev kits etc.
