Either the Great Blue Herons at the pond left temporarily bcuz the water is too high, or they are hiding in the overgrown jungle of vegetation. So, I am compensating with these Belted Kingfisher pics. This is the male all wet after a dive.🪶

Only saw the elder Sandhill Cranes for a minute. Got one pic of the male. They are adjusting after their colt losses, but seem well and getting around in their somewhat flooded park on the marsh.🪶

The lakefront Sandhill Cranes have a new colt, so tiny! Must have lost the colt I saw them with in May. Sad, so I hope this little one makes it. They moved away from the area they were in with the other colt and were in a mainstream area this weekend.

I was getting in my vehicle and I think it was 25-35 feet away. This was at a very urban spot on our lakefront with trails and sidewalks all around. Really wonderful moment!

I almost lost it seeing 3 red-tailed hawks on the same perch! When they turned a bit and I could see them better, it was a beautiful sight. The parent, still screaming, but the youngster on the pole must have listened good, it had blood on it’s talon & beak. What an encounter!🪶

The utility pole was right near a monastery that has nice birds, so I scooped the loop and left. No hawks on the pole any longer, but two properties down the road I had to take a second look. Two youngster red-tailed hawks being schooled by this same parent. Wow. A lucky day.🪶

I heard outrageous red-tailed hawk screams while driving on Sat. Summer school class on hunting was in session for some young adult red-tailed hawks. This is how I first found them. Adult was just screaming at the youngster on a utility pole. This youngster is listening tho.🪶
