Most “you couldn’t do that today” examples I hear are definitely things you could do today. Blazing Saddles is the example that stumps me the most. Yeah you’d have to change some things, but the racial humor is clearly attacking racism, not race.

Donald Glover & Seth Rogan could do a B-minus Blazing Saddles revival with their eyes closed. But people love blaming exogenous factors for the fact that they're not Mel Brooks or Larry David at the height of their powers
