Biden chose to run again. Its very hard to oppose in that context. But now he is cruising to defeat, and in the best chance he had to close the polling gap, with maximum visibility, he failed in the most catastrophic manner.

This is the first thing I've agreed with the NYT about in a while. I feel certain Biden loses all swing states in November, and running another unpopular candidate like 2016 is the surest way to hand the end of the Republic to aspiring dictator Trump

You really oppose changing the 2024 democratic ticket? That is all they are advocating for, and it seems pretty indisputable that Biden will be more likely to lose compared to basically any generic Democrat if he is the one on the ticket in November

There's a choice upstream of that choice, which is whether the guy trailing in all 6 swing states who just failed catastrophically to convince voters he was fit to lead the nation should be replaced by someone that could win. Lean into it for the sake of the democratic chances of victory in November

The biggest problem with the system is how corrupted it has become by special interests. In other, less important nations the stakes are lower so there has been less infiltration of "bought" politicians. The GOP has been increasingly flooded with these and now they are the "good guys" in the party😳

I don't agree. If the parties decision processes over the next two months yield an extremely unpopular candidate incapable of inspiring the votes required to build an electoral majority then the fault lies with the key figures in the party.
