Two examples into his true character if you want to dig: The way he’s been treating the state scientists union is appalling when you consider his supposed environmental agenda. Similarly, his PUC has been making terrible electric rate policy which undermines his stated decarbonization goals.

He’s better, in that the constraints he must operate under are more progressive, but he skews toward the money when he thinks people aren’t looking. It’s all China Town here when it comes down to it; you don’t become CalGov without understanding your role in that.

The best alt music that came out of the '90s was from female fronted bands. There's no need to retcon the Gin Blossoms or Rembrandts or even Pearl Jam: they were coming from positions of strength. Throwing Muses, Breeders, Belly, Tori Amos: these women knew what they were dealing with.

Plus, shouldn’t we care if places where other humans live are suffering due to climate disruptions? Or even for very selfish reasons, like their insurance rates go up when California or Florida have issues? Climate change believes in them, even if they don’t believe in it.
