That sounds like Bavaria where local police who came to sort a parking lot fender bender weren’t wearing badges/IDs. I asked for their ID for my records & why no badge. He said they don’t want ‘someone’ coming to their houses. I clarified, yes, someone equals ‘antifa’.

Bavaria, especially Munich, is funny like that. Staunch Christian conservatism with a weird anarchist streak in the population centres.

That tracks. I was at a punk festival outside Munich many years ago where there was no punk music, just brass bands playing oompah music. The local punks clarified that if a punk band played the cops would haul everyone to jail. They tried the following year, it went as they said it would.
