One time the AC repair guy was at our place and kept complimenting my husband for all his retro gaming systems (that were mine) and his Gundam mechanical keyboard (that I made for him). Anyway he installed our AC unit upside down and didn't put in a refrigerant and that's getting fixed this week.

Good grief. How long before it was clear something was wrong? Our first place had the AC working Well Enough for its age but when we got it serviced it turned out the fan blade was installed upside down. The tech was baffled, it wasn't supposed to be possible. But this guy forgot the REFRIGERANT?!

I once worked on the construction of a large retirement home, insulating all of the HVAC ductwork. The HVAC installers put ALL of the a/c units in upside-down. Each unit had "this way down" arrows on them in bright red.
