being exiled to canada and having to move back to my hometown since it's one of the few cities i can afford to actually live in is insanely demoralizing. i feel like my life is still on a huge downturn and i have no idea when that'll change

I am in the same boat. 2-3 interviews in a year, nothing changing, no raises to work with, housing is too expensive. It's exhausting, and it's so hard to not just accept that this is how it is. I hope things get better for you.
