This pushback against indie games being about depression is so weird. Firstly, they aren't all about that, or even the bulk of them. Secondly, that's valid and relatable subject matter that if done well should be explored more. Why the fuck are people so dick-bent about this?

i genuinely don’t understand that mindset. and if those types of games bother you that much, then go play another game that’s not about depression, then? there are TONS of them lmao. one of the cool things about video games is that there are so many.

Partially unrelated but like... I would absolutely play an indie game about complicated mental troubles and the kind of symbolic enemies they face. That would be a welcome change from the shovelware we keep getting from big studios. Especially if it was coop and involved puzzle elements. 😅
