Sometimes I create art, music, and code.
Alexithymia and Mania. Brain is wonky sometimes but I try my best.
It is and while I certainly don't like the options we get shoehorned with, I do know that republicans only tolerate my existence and the existence of my people.
Which i've lived through enough chaos to know how quickly tolerance can change when the opportunity presents itself. ๐

"it looks like it could get a lot worse."
100%!
It's difficult for some people to understand just how bad normality can get and how much effort (and lives) it took to get this far. If anything, people who have never voted for anything should be trying to help keep us from going back in time.

I try to be human on Linkedin. But then again, I get mandatory "social media behavior" workday training several times a year in an attempt to iron out that pesky humanness....

Last I knew the brightest minds hadn't even figured out if humans are truly self-aware. Or exactly where the limitations of that arise.
Quite the sour pickle that one is. ๐

Yeah it's weird that often republicans will die on the hill of "well it was comorbid" as if that somehow changes the fact that virus was the final jenga block... ๐ตโ

That's what frustrates me the most about it.
"OpenAI" hasn't been Open or Non-Profit since 2017 but yet they still pretend they are a research company.
There's a lot more social leniency on research/academic projects compared to commercialization and for good reason.

Shit.... lot kinder than I would have been. Why people get all weird over PPE is quite strange.
I would have hit them with that good old "I have polio and am hard of hearing want to stand a little closer?"

The confusing thing to me is that the vagueness of noise prediction (and removal) should be completely intractable to compute since you wouldn't know what is "finished".
That and because of noise in the training set, the distributions should never converge into anything... It's rather fuzzy to me.

Do you have any info on diffusion models?
The concept seems so straightforward and yet the theory is pretty baffling.

One of the reasons is definitely limited play money in the face of economic uncertainty.
I used to have a lot more play money when rent was a third of what it is now. No exaggeration that's what it was. That was a long time ago when the same salary had a lot more buying power. ๐ซค

Yeah it's wild how many recalls they have had.
Like some vehicles will have a "1/100,000 chance that the ignition can abruptly fail" kind of recall and the Cybertruck is just like "yeah i'll die in the rain".
Just... What.... ๐

Yikes. Odds are very high IF there ever was a revolution of any kind, I wouldn't even know about it living in this lovely city. Or it would be little more than a passing conversation of an event occurring in a place far away from me.

I'm willing to bet that nobody that seriously thinks AGI will exist in our lifetimes has ever taken courses in neuroscience.
"AI/AGI" is a hamfisted attempt at redefining the complexities of intellect into a handful of math equations. ๐

It's definitely the presentation involved that matters.
Someone excitedly disassembling a washing machine and explaining all the parts is a lot more captivating than reading a hundred page long schematic of a washing machine. ๐

The shitty trolls are out thick tonight.
I call them shitty because they like to throw in a obviously unpopular statement and then bail as soon as people respond.
Probably a form of baiting. I'm not too versed on internet dynamics. Very unusual behavior either way.

BlueSky's lack of algorithm sadly does mean a person has to either be very mindful of who they follow or use the "feeds".
I run into this same problem with Linkedin too but to a lesser degree. Sometimes people's content just vanishes from the timeline.

100%.
It doesn't help that when one disaster fades to the background, another one takes its place. First viral, now political.
It's all so exhausting trying to temper stress when all you're exposed to is panicking.

I would assume a person has to be if they were bragging about making their friends uncomfortable. That is of course assuming any of it was real and it wasn't just a hamfisted attempt at opening wounds.
That's pretty sociopathic behavior on her part.
