My wife’s Italian grandparents went back-and-forth to Italy on dirty ass ships multiple times, having left there when little children. Her parents didn’t have passports until we made them get them in their 60s. We travel as much as possible even tho our parents didn't with us. Some gens are flexible

Exactly, its not about "unions" for either side as much as it is helping people. For example, leftists would accept either extremely high min wages and strong laws, or the danish system of getting these through unions - but would ban cop unions. The other side just hates teachers, govt workers, etc.
