The general mood on Bluesky reminds me of the morning when Trump was elected, almost 8 years ago. This is a sensible song about the morning after, from North Carolina country/Americana band American Aquarium.

I know Americans are depressed, but there's a new Johnny Cash album out, a new Guided by Voices album too. And Silvarada (formerly Mike & The Moonpies), and a rather nifty Wilco EP.

I just told that anecdote to my girlfriend who's actually a bigger Lynch fan than I am (she finds som excuse to talk Twin Peaks just about every day), she thought it was funny.

yeah, that's a good version. The original 1970s version I find a bit underwhelming to be honest, but it reached its full potential in live versions in the 1980s and 90s.

"A Short Film About John Bolton" isn't bad, I used to own it on .... was it VHS or DVD? It's about John Bolton the painter/artist, not the asshole right wing Republican.

I subscribed to Apple TV Plus again because the new Lily Gladstone film is streaming from Friday. Love her so much. It's getting good reviews too. 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. YAY!

Yeah, La Chimera was great... when this started playing in the film I said to my girlfriend "That's a Tangerine Dream track" until I realized my error 20 seconds later.

I liked this album so much back in the day... with his later albums I must admit felt like he didn't evolve enough, his hero Lou Reed was better at evolving into making music that was also for middle aged people.

I'm Danish, and I've managed to subscribe to Criterion by using a VPN program, it's not that difficult, you just need the VPN while signing up, set it to "USA", after that you dont need the VPN in the future. You can also use the VPN to access other MUBI films in other countries.

I responded much more to Marienbad the second time I watched it. Yeah, this one is good. The mannerisms may have been influenced by Agnes Varda's first (pretty good) film, La Pointe Courte. Resnais worked as editor on that one. Oh, and DO watch My American Uncle on Criterion Channel.

Anyway, I did a search and I noticed that the issue has recently been remastered closer to Oliff's intentions (he apparently DID do a hand painted version before if was turned into photoshop colors)

Yeah, same thinking here - I missed it last time it was at the local cinemateque, and I think you probably need to 'commit' in some way to actually get round to watching this. Anyway, her film "Letters From Home" was pretty good, seen that.
