For a look into our future under this coalition, have a listen to Today in Focus by @guardian. A 2-parter on 14 years of Tory rule, austerity & a push for “small government”. One fact - there are more foodbanks in the UK now than McDonalds restaurants.

I went to Patea, tried to do the moonwalk on a bench in front of the Waka monument & moonwalked off the end into the bushes. Funniest moment of my life. Even better was there was a car of locals driving past as I did it and they laughed & tooted. 😂😂😂

This is going to be a rough week for many. Sending my aroha to all 3News/Newshub staff - current & former. You all helped make NZ a better place by telling stories that mattered & keeping Kiwis at the heart of everything you did. You are amazing. ✊🏻❤️

Ten years of my working life was at 3News/Newshub. It began under CanWest, survived the Audsley & Weldon disaster eras & finished in 2017. Former colleague Adam Hollingworth has done an amazing job capturing that time for @newsroom with Melana Khabazi.

Please join in making our politicians know stalking is wrong & must become a crime. Our current laws are out of date, making it hard for victims & survivors to get the protection they need.

Let’s not forget that while this was happening, ACT fell from the heady heights of 13% in Sept ‘23 to 8% on election day. That is a loss of nearly 40%. Something rotten in the state of Seymour.

Nothing to see here” seems to be ACT’s response to allegations of a culture of fear, a train wreck of a campaign, wasteful spending, poor treatment of women & a declaration of no confidence in ACT party board.

Thank goodness RATs will still be free for another 3 months. Should remain free after that, but who knows with this coalition.

35 years since the Tiananmen massacre. 35 years of parents not knowing what happened to their children. 35 years of truth suppression. 35 years since a pro-democracy movement was cut down by a nation too many countries happily do trade with while ignoring the regime’s brutality.

They should have been fired at the end of their 90-day trial because it was obvious they were inept & would drag us backwards 50+ years instead of progressing us into the future.

It is all political spin. The money was there from Labour as per their budget but NAct First doesn't want to give any credit to the left so they will lie, deceive & fudge numbers to make themselves look good, just like an abusive partner. We need to call them out on their BS.

That is a whole other kettle of fish, but is equally problematic and gives the impression of jobs for mates. I don't trust Mike King as I think he is highly problematic to be in charge of a mental health initiative & giving a tonne of money to one organisation is narrowminded & dumb.

Because as much as those two would make sense, without confirmation it is pure speculation which doesn’t help. It also contradicts what the speaker’s office said which was one MP.

Yep. And like an toxic abusive relationship, the signs were there from the campaign, we know what life is like under National, yet as a nation we still vote them in hoping that this time neoliberalism has changed.

This is abusive. NAct First are playing with the emotions of cancer patients & their families, stringing them along in the hope that funding will happen soon. They don’t care at all.

All of this shows that Simeon Brown’s claim this was Labour’s fault is absolute BS. The blame lies with the power companies. If you wanted to blame a political party, then that is National who first sold Contact in 1995 & then partly sold the other 3 in 2013. END

This means that of the 4 top power companies in NZ, 3 financially benefited from talk of potential power cuts. They control the generation of electricity & they control how much we pay for our electricity through their retail arm. 8/

Mercury is the top power company in NZ & has been ok price wise over the last year. Interesting to note that yesterday the share price went from $6.31 at the start of the day to close at $6.50. So their share price increased while there was talk of power cuts today. 4/
