It's important, especially for young people concerned about the climate, to know is that the main plan for a second Trump administration advises abolishing the offices within the federal government tasked specifically with climate policy and forbidding others, like DOD, from even thinking about it

Every now and then I do a selective rewatch of The West Wing. Today included "Short List" - the episode where the Justice Mendoza (Edward Olmos) arc starts.

I literally got goosebumps. First airing in Nov'99, it's as timely today as it was 25 years ago.

Sometimes, really cheap-ass employers will demand your jury pay be given back to them if they keep paying you, but most of them recognize that it costs them more to hassle you and get that check from you and process it then the paltry amount that jury duty pays is worth to them.

TIL about the lookout in the crow's nest on the USS New Jersey during Typhoon Cobra. At the very top of a very large ship during a typhoon with 80+' waves, he swung hundreds of feet in every direction for hours. Would the main mast stay whole? No one knew!

Yes, but most phones can do really good video at this point. It's a huge tipping point. And LEDs with adjustable color temp are commonplace. It's a glorious Shangri-La of video.

With LE, for example, the cron job just requests a new one, pops it in the right place, fixes the symlinks, and restarts the web service. It's not rocket surgery at all anymore.
