In the garden today ... It's HOT! That's good for this Rudbeckia plant that is bursting with buds, but none open yet. Sorry for the unfocused pollinator, but they rarely stay still long enough for me to get a good focus.

And he writes it so well --- simple, clear, no jargon, easy to follow and understand. Back in 2003-2004 I was seeking a meditation style, tried several. Found a VCR of his in the Corvallis library where he explained Vipassana meditation, and I was hooked immediately, never looked back.

Eugene shares a legal border with Springfield but it’s really more like one city. Springfield has no such ban. But at least it cuts down on the neighborhood fireworks.

I don’t know why I got so unsteady on it. I’d been riding in Georgia with no problems but after returning to Eugene 10 years ago I noticed it fairly quickly, and it got worse. I bought a new bike thinking its design would help, but I never adjusted to it. I had a good run!

I wish I could! I sold my bike a couple of years ago because I no longer had the balance to ride comfortably. I crashed once, and that was enough. Nothing injured but my ego, fortunately. I had a good 50 years or so with a good bike and open roads, though!

I used to do that (riding like I stole it) frequently, back in the day. Riding as fast as I could and for as long as I could -- great way to work off frustrations. Plus, I love it.

Pretty blossoms. I grew potatoes once many years ago in Atlanta. They were just plain potatoes and I somehow dug them all up while they were still small. Best potatoes I've ever had, though! All food tastes better garden-fresh.

He's done that since he was little. It was a bit unnerving at first -- he will sit there like that for quite awhile, just staring -- but I've gotten used to it. Sometimes it's actually a good reminder that I've missed feeding time, but that wasn't the case yesterday.
