As long as the experience stays similar across devices. I played around with Mastodon when Twitter started going downhill and I somehow ended up on different servers and followed about the same people on each one yet the replies to people's posts changed depending on which server I was on at times.

One possible explanation for that (which would be opaque to the average user) is that each server has different servers it blacklists; so the replies may have been different because some of them were on servers that had been blocked by owner of the server you're currently on
