Stop writing off the South politically as if there aren’t countless people here fighting like hell to do good.

Unironically, there’s a huge classism issue among the left when it comes to this. I think that a lot of leftists immediately associate the south with conservatism. This of course is exactly what they want, they so badly want people to think they’re the majority party.

We just need to start by ensuring that every race contains a choice. Stop letting incumbents run unopposed, especially in “little” races to build a base. In Alabama, for example, even the county coroners are elected (with minimal qualifications required). Many states have elected sheriffs.
