Floating colonies in Venus's upper atmosphere have been theorized for decades but anything goes wrong and whatever ends up on the surface is screwed. The Soviets sent probes to the surface of Venus and even with advanced cooling systems none of them lasted a day.

The only found footage movies I saw in theatre were Cloverfield and Apollo 18. Everyone knows Cloverfield but Apollo 18 was about a secret Moon landing where two astronauts find moon rocks that transform into aliens. Basically rock-like crabs that infect and eat them.
