I'm not against reasonable gun control measures either, I just don't think we have the luxury of taking the high-ground anymore. Right wing extremists are well-organized and armed. We should be prepared.

Honestly instead of going full anti-gun, gun control activities should be arming themselves. I grew up around 2A stockpiler nuts and the reality is we're already outgunned. I really fear for the future of this country if more people don't wake-up to this threat

African Americans (mostly veterans) formed self-defense militias for their protection in the early and mid 20th century. It's not an unreasonable response to the very real threat of political violence
I grew up around 2A stockpilers. They are organizing with intent.

2A nuts have enough weapons to form a militia, and many have expressed a clear intent to engage in guerilla warfare against their perceived lessers. Honesty seems like we should be matching their energy.

And they 100% nailed how people think of (and treat) the homeless. It's supposed to make you uncomfortable.

That was a commentary on how we treat the homeless, and for the most part, it's true. Everybody who claims to have a solution does not have a solution. Instead, they continuously push them into neighboring communities with restrictive ordinances and targeted police crackdowns.

Although I must note that one of those "good cops" became a judge. Most of them, however, left law enforcement entirely.

Good people are clearly the minority, and many face retaliation from the entire force for being decent people. I'm not surprised, the majority of 21st century cops were 20th century klansmen.

I know there are good cops, I've met them. I've also met many decent people in the military, but that doesn't change what their organization does. And in fact, I cannot think of one good cop I know who's still a cop.

How difficult is it to install your own sprinkler system? How did you connect it to water?
My home sprinkler system is so old it remembers Nixon. Definitely needs an overhaul.

We're also thinking about reshaping the lawn into a depressed bowl shape so it captures and holds water. Rain gardens are very common in drought stricken areas

I'm replacing my parents lawn with a mixture of buffalo grass and microclover next year. Buffalo grass is native to my region and uses 80% less water. The microclover returns nitrogen to the soil which helps the grass.

For reference, a new hybrid vehicle is generally at least $20k cheaper than a new electric vehicle and much cheaper to maintain.
Not to mention plug-in hybrids make infinitely more sense for a country with underdeveloped charging infrastructure.

Crazy our government (u.s.) is banning hybrid vehicles, the most affordable and accessible electrified vehicle on the market.

*SIDE NOTE: I have nothing against the homeless. I believe we should provide housing and support services to everyone regardless of mental health or drug use.
HOWEVER
Until that happens, I don't believe anybody without regular access to hygiene facilities should be working in food service.

All the jobs (in my area) that genuinely require no past experience also have no interest in hiring somebody who isn't abusable.
I simply refuse to believe I'm not qualified to work in food service when nearly 60% of fast food employees are homeless people.

2nd issue: employers don't want to train anybody. Even the jobs listed as "no experience required" insist applicants must have prior experience in a similar career to be considered.

They sure as fuck aren't hiring people in a stable living situation because they aren't desperate enough, they can quit whenever they want.
Managers want employees who have too much to lose to quit, or don't have the life experience to know they're being abused in the workplace.

Why the fuck ain't I heard back from one job offer? I've put in over 30 applications in the last week and nothing. Radio silence!
Nobody's hiring, and if they say they are, they're only hiring single moms and high schoolers because they're easy to abuse.

Just a personal observation. Growing up in a small town, I was encouraged to get involved in local level political organization starting in my teens. Republicans do a better job at grooming their youth into becoming involved politically than Democrats, especially concerning local level politics.

As a Texan, I miss the access road system. Most interstates in Texas have a 2nd set of highway-like roads for slower traffic. They're really convenient, especially during inclement weather.

Not to sound conspiratorial, but if my generation was surveyed, the data they collect would not fit their narrative. I'm not a Republican, but an uncomfortable amount of my generation (especially religious men) hold right-wing beliefs.

20 here, I hardly ever get those calls. I've only been phone surveyed once and the surveyors were so sketchy I didn't feel comfortable giving them my information.
If it were a bipartisan entity, I would feel different, but it was clearly for a right-wing fringe political candidate.

CBD products sold in that state have a lot more THC than on the label and there's no real oversight to their new market. Which presents a problem when you consider the type of people working in that industry are not the most careful, and they don't have the regulatory oversight to compensate.

At least when I buy a THC cart I know its production was highly regulated, and because we're a legal state, I have greater assurance the percentages are correct.

Not to sound like the devil's advocate, but the disposables guarantee a higher level of safety. Back when those shops used to sell the juice by the bottle, it was only as safe as the employees mixing it.
