Just checking in as a fire break on your timeline to say, 100 some days in, I’m glad you’re on the journey with me. Cheers to you, you volcano nerds from all over. Anyways… Taking up more TL space so you can have a breather. Um…that May 18, 1980 eruption was something, huh?

It was. Many years later a good friend sent me a jar of MSH ash that her mother had kept in a jar. It is now part of my rock collection, though to be fair it's more like rock-powder...or perhaps volcano concentrate drink mix?

I reiterate my praise from last month. The lead up stories, the speculation beforehand, and then the moment by moment of the eruption—what was really happening—you just nailed it. I say take a vacation and then reset the clock for next Winter/Spring to do it all again!
