yee the levels do have that liminal vibe particularly near the end here. the level is ironicly called "The bad dream" its the part where the story starts getting dark and your companions are taken at the end and dark minions is the part where you fight them as the seceond last boss

Then we be like but actually homeless doesn't meen bad. and they hide. I was homeless for 3 months because welfare blatantly screwed with me and cut my benefit. Sending a letter to attend a meeting to an address that didn't exist then telling me to bad you didn't show up.

Innacurate as the history was. I prefer a happyer outlook. I don't like people evil always by default. Fallout games took a nice approach to the 1950s with multi race relations being a thing. Im mixed race. so I kinda wish that was the truth of the history. Even if it wasnt.
