Note that with S2D, your only options for big stuff are the Slaughterbrute, Mutalith Vortex Beast, Daemon Prince, and Soul Grinder. But it does have Ogroids, who while they aren't nearly the size of those, are still significantly larger than a human and VERY brutish and deadly.

Monsters and magic? Ossiarchs actually do well on both. We have a lot of larger stuff (Morghasts, Gothizzar, Arkhan) and wizards (most characters). It'd be hard to make a list without at least one. You could also go S2D, but I don't know if 4E will have the subfaction that makes everyone a wizard.

An important factor is probably what you'd enjoy more mechanically. Whether you're more interested in melee vs ranged, elite vs horde, finesse vs durability, spellcasting vs not, etc. That would probably help narrow things down more. Unless you're considering S2D. They can be played as most things.
