The books start off working with him, without the mystery of who he is, and ~then branches off to other character arcs. The show feels like it divides its attention a lot ... and the first few books are supposed to be "the fast paced ones". It's probably gonna get worse x)

The show adds a lot of stuff right away to give other characters some more development earlier on, and like... I guess it could've worked better? >w> In the first book it's told right away that Rand is the chosen one, and builds up on that. The show waits until the last episode of season 1 x)

My main issue with the show is that it's way less focused than the books. The first novels really know what character arcs it wants to work with, and they only start to get serious pacing issues near the middle books.
