This is great analysis by Josh. I just want to add that Seymour is using “conspiracy theory” & “conspiracy theorist” deliberately when countering Forbes: he’s trading on the association that such theories/theorists are clearly implausible in order to make reasonable questions seem irrational

This is the danger of just accepting the common wisdom that conspiracy theories are mad, bad, or dangerous: it licenses people like Seymour to label views/questions they don’t like as conspiracy theories (or the people asking as “conspiracy theorists”), and to seem quite reasonable when doing so

He's also charging the interviewer with the very crime he is committing himself So much of the "Treaty debate" is based on misrepresentation of Te Tiriti and conspiracy theories about how it is being used to disadvantage non-Māori
