This is great analysis by Josh. I just want to add that Seymour is using “conspiracy theory” & “conspiracy theorist” deliberately when countering Forbes: he’s trading on the association that such theories/theorists are clearly implausible in order to make reasonable questions seem irrational
This is the danger of just accepting the common wisdom that conspiracy theories are mad, bad, or dangerous: it licenses people like Seymour to label views/questions they don’t like as conspiracy theories (or the people asking as “conspiracy theorists”), and to seem quite reasonable when doing so
Yep, he is a dangerous, evil little shit, but he is not stupid and he is an actually experienced politician who knows what the media wants and can use it to slide his festering thuggery into 5 million minds
He's also charging the interviewer with the very crime he is committing himself
