If Quinn & Peterka are both healthy (big if) then you’re paying $9M for a third line winger. They have the cap space so why not keep him? But I can understand in a vacuum the decision. Granato is a good development coach but they weren’t making the leap with him.

Granato was digging us out of the hole. The tank ruined this club, and it took time to get things back. I love Lindy, and I’m very excited to see him back behind the bench. But it was 100% a decision made to placate season ticket holders over an arbitrary number of missed playoff seasons.
