The man had half a bad debate and people act like the sky is falling. People I know that aren’t terminally plugged into politics watched that debate and their takeaway wasn’t “cognitive decline” it was “oh my God, Trump sounds deranged.”

The other option has said that he’ll nuke Palestine. And it’s all hypothetical that another Democrat won’t simply echo Biden’s policy on the region. People want a fantasy candidate without putting up names.

Yup. And his answer on the polls question even got Stephanopoulos to admit that we are in an era where polling is really unreliable. I’m 39 and no one I know answers their phone if it’s not a number they know.

There are several reasons Joe dropping out would be very bad, including the fact that A) it would immediately be treated as the Democrats covered up his “mental decline” and lied to the country. And B) any new candidate would have only a few months and would have to start a campaign from scratch.

Right, and this is the thing about the polling. George Stephanopoulos made the argument that a lot of other democrats running for office are polling ahead of Biden. Do you think that the people voting for those candidates are going to leave the president spot blank? Or vote Trump???

Biden was great in the George Stephanopoulos interview. Couple points I wish he’d hammered down on more, but it went well, and Biden had Stephanopoulos forced to concede on a few points, like the fact that polling is very, very broken.

They’re gonna do that with a press conference too. But the narrative has a harder time lasting the more that he’s at stuff. You can say “he’s reading a teleprompter!” but he’s not doing that in interviews.

Cancelling campaign events to do a press conference the week of a holiday would have looked worse. Within one week of the debate he’s been at several campaign events and he’s doing a sit down interview. He’s flooding the zone, and that’s the smart play. One press conference won’t do it.

Oh Guardians Vol. 3 is so good. Really nice end to the saga. I love that James Gunn teased that he was gonna kill some of them off during production and then the big twist is that everybody lives and gets a nice send off. I don’t think I realized how much I needed that.

I think you’ll see it for a little bit given the sheer size of the Switch user base, especially if backwards compatibility is a thing. But they don’t want to fall into a trap like Microsoft with Xbox One where 90% of the games are playable on both so no one upgrades.

Eh, I don’t think every superhero kid needs to get the exact same power set as their parent. They could have used a canon element from the comics, and then undid it (just like the comics!) when they got the Magneto rights. Instead they jumped the gun on retconning it.

To be fair, Remender just wrote the story; it was very much editorially mandated. The dumb thing is, Marvel Studios should have just embraced the Whizzer being their parents in the MCU since that was an old Avengers story, and you could have used it as a way to bring in the Invaders.

Yup. Did Biden start bad at the debate? Absolutely, but it was clearly a combination of his stutter, cold, and trying to check Trump’s lies with figures simultaneously. He got better and his answers made sense. Trump was never coherent, and that just gets glossed over.

This is the thing: GOP support with women has plunged. Biden is gonna be running ads non-stop about Trump killing Roe and being a convicted sex pest. There’s no way he gains with women, and he’s more extreme on immigration than before. I truly don’t see how the polls are accurate.

Donald Trump has always been graded on a curve and the media, fearful of being labeled pro-liberal, refuses to cover things like this to the degree deserved. It’s not like he’s been accused once. This is multiple times he’s been credibly accused of sexually assaulting women.

I say this without hyperbole: Calvin and Hobbes remains one of the most perfect works in the comics medium. The older I get, the more I appreciate what Watterson gave us, and I’m so happy I got to clip a bunch of those strips from the newspaper and experience them daily as a kid.
