Similar experience here. No incidents at Fort Johnson, but more than a couple run-ins with racism in upstate SC and around Fort Liberty. Pulled up next to a truck with a WHITE POWER WORLDWIDE (and other regalia on it) in SC. That was a tense traffic light.

As the Patterson Hood once wrote “Racism is a world wide problem but thanks to George Wallace it’s just a little bit easier to play it with a southern accent.” I can’t lie it worries me seeing how some of the Special Forces types around Fort Liberty talk publicly while the Army does nothing.
