I also don't care what Obama (or ANYONE!) thinks in this situation. But if either of them has 1% of the humanity we'd want to credit them with—much less the best-buds act they did in public—then the fact that Joe was grieving Beau's May 2015 death meant Obama could never have asked him to run.

Very true, but Obama's greatest failure in the WH was still shown in the quality of executive leadership challenging each other for the '16 nomination. We were spoiled for competent candidates in '08, but no one in '16 had the combination of vision, voice, and organizing chops needed for victory.
