Lmao they just changed the title of the piece from βWhy I donβt voteβ to βWhy I wonβt voteβ rather than tell readers that the guy actually does vote

I dunno. We're talking about it, and he doesn't seem like the type to be bothered by getting caught in a lie.
The question in my mind is, was the NYT just incompetent (never a bad bet) or was that a deliberate choice on their part, too?

If they do have the wrong guy, he's in the same town of 8,000 people, and with approximately the same age (effectively ruling out a brother or son).
And he registered JUST IN TIME for the 2000 election, too.
God, if every Democrat had this commitment to voting, Biden would win 400 EVs.

Imagine writing the "I don't wear that hat anymore" piece in a world where your choice of hat was recorded in a public register every day, and just deciding to brazen through it while wearing the hat.

Ooof, there it is, there's the other shoe that'll drop. I knew it'd be something, something even beyond more allegations and confirmations. But yeah, that's the ticket.

What Gaiman himself admits to (sexual contact with a domestic employee he'd personally selected, on her first day) is so inherently shitty and predatory as to take us past the question of "wait, maybe he's a good guy underneath it all." Nope.

I watched a CCTV video where someone casually drove a car onto the tracks and strolled away. A few minutes later it got hit by a train.
Eventually someone explained to me that it was very lazy, very dangerous insurance fraud. I guess the perception that trains run over cars all the time fuels that?

What he admits to (sexual contact with a domestic employee on her first day) is just beyond fucked up. I'm not saying ignore the rest, I'm saying that alone is more than enough.

True, and what's more I don't know a single colleague who wouldn't talk a lawyer's ear off for the price of a catered lunch.
That said, at this level, I find it hard to believe that the horrendously shoddy quality of the law-office history on display is unintentional.

I disagree. Setting aside the fact that he is an actual human being, it would have been a huge strategic mistake to try to get him to bully past his and his family's grief.
A candidate that doesn't really want to be on the stump is absolutely going to lose, in this case to Clinton in the primary.

I backed John Edwards in '08, so as penance I won't claim to know what Dems should have done in '16. With Biden off the table, Clinton seemed inevitable, but that may also be because Clinton did an extremely good job of clearing the field for herself.
Anyway, here we are.

I get the sense a lot of violence has been committed by Trump supporters over the past year that just hasn't been reported on yet for fear of inspiring more.

I also don't care what Obama (or ANYONE!) thinks in this situation. But if either of them has 1% of the humanity we'd want to credit them withβmuch less the best-buds act they did in publicβthen the fact that Joe was grieving Beau's May 2015 death meant Obama could never have asked him to run.

When's the next working day in the Senate? The constitutional amendment fixing the POTUS-king problem would take about 30 seconds to draft.
Sure they'd kill it, but at least they'd have the blood of an extremely popular policy on their hands.

Keeping Trump out of the White House isnβt the only thing that needs doing and it isnβt enough to solve all problems facing the country & world but if it isnβt done then all those problems get exponentially worse in ways I donβt even know how to express and it scares me when people pretend otherwise

Back in my W-era blogging days, I had a "Right-Wing Dog Injury Counter" that reset every time a conservative hurt or killed a dog AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THEIR IDEOLOGY (so not just accidents).
It reset all the time. Just, all the fucking time.
