I really like the design of the monster in The Relic. It isn’t meant to be an incomprehensible being, but a fucked up twisted mutant, which I think it does well.

To Trump and his supporters it was never about proving his innocence. It’s always been about intimidating anyone who would dare try to stand up to him. They think he should be able to do anything he wants without consequence and anything less is a gross injustice.

The funny thing about the conservative reaction to the guilty verdict is that everyone knows that in a literal sense he’s guilty. You don’t see Trump supporters claiming he didn’t do it. They genuinely believe that holding Trump accountable for anything is unjust.

My family has a tradition of going to Red Lobster every year around Christmas so if it does go under I admit I will be pretty sad. I do have a bit of a sentimental attachment to it.

It’s kind of a miracle Americans didn’t retain the servant in blackface when they adapted Sinterklaas into Santa Claus. Santa Claus was popularized around the same time as minstrel shows yet somehow that aspect was completely avoided.
