We’re dealing with catastrophic flooding in Nairobi, the result of decades of terrible governance and urban planning, climate change and neglect of informal settlements. Eurocentric climate literature presumes that the devastating impact on people will be mass migration when in fact people will die.

this! when the big hurricane hit us a few years ago(it’s been 7yr but we’re not over it)the surges and flooding from the mountains killed many, many people. urban planning is all but non existent & they keep building on the shoreline.
