Yeah but that’s the issue with saying “modernity”. Maybe it means capitalism! Maybe it only means late capitalism! Maybe it means modernist philosophies! Maybe it means technological innovations! Maybe it means futurism! Maybe it means the concept of progress! etc

No, it's capitalism. Especially since scarcity is almost entirely artificial now and we have the means to feed, shelter, and clothe everyone on Earth, if the almighty shareholders so desired. But they don't, so war and death and profits it is.
