New: The Northern District of Texas, a federal court that has become a favored destination for conservatives suing to block Biden's agenda, has adopted a rule that would automatically stay orders transferring lawsuits out of the 5th Circuit for 21 days.
I'm going to ask a naive question: how can a district court do such a thing? Either there's a valid basis to transfer the case or not. If there is it should be transferred and if not it should remain. How is justice served by delaying a valid transfer for 3 weeks? Actually that's also rhetorical.
So remember when Chuck Schumer wrote a policy about this nonsense that was just advisory and was promptly ignored? Congress is in charge of this! Judge assignment is statutory! I'm so mad that Dems didn't actually address this in a binding way when they had the House as well as the Senate.
Explain to me like I’m five - why does some federal judge in Amarillo get to set policy for the entire nation and not just for the sand and tumbleweeds in the Texas panhandle?
