Unfortunately it does matter because when it became 6-3 the Alito faction had enough votes to ignore Roberts and that’s when they went from bad to truly off the rails

Roberts is totally off the rails. The only reason he sometimes pretended to be normal was because they had the votes and he could afford to look magnimonious.
