Honestly, if he *doesn’t* do that, then I think I need to eat my earlier words and join the people calling him to step aside and let another candidate run. This is an *easier* test than the debate performance.

100%. I was not on team "Biden should step aside" straight after the debate, because it's repairable. But if they're not going to take easy steps to repair it, then the choice is straightforward: he should step aside. It is a choice to not engage with public concerns in a campaign, and a wrong one.
