I make my marital counseling couples watch this film or ,at the very least read the play ,before we can continue. The Battling Bickersons is not readily available. The play and the film are masterpieces in capturing the tragedy, sorrow, and viciousness of the human condition. Get The Guest.

When I watched it for the first time I didn't really get it, because I was 19 and had never been on a third date, let alone understood long term relationships. When I went back to it in my 40s, I was blown away. I wasn't lucky enough to meet Albee in my time at UH, but I had friends who did.
