I’ve never heard that Weisinger tried to unretire. Sorry, Mort! Is there a good book or other source for this kind of ‘inside baseball’ type stuff for DC? Especially in the 60s 70s. It would be interesting.

Putnam and large parts of Orange counties are also pretty closely connected to NYC and so should be considered downstate. Of course there is no absolute definition. Some city folk would say that upstate starts with Yonkers and ends around Albany. Beyond is a howling wilderness.
