In a hypothetical free moment, could you describe the purview under which the FBI/DOJ can investigate a sitting SCOTUS member? I know Rehnquist advised Mitchell it would be kosher re:Fortas, but is there more wholesome procedure than that?
I gather it is technically within DOJ’s scope?..
