My brief reply would be, not this year. It would require JRB commending his delegates to back Kamala. But this is a very different year from, say, ‘68, where many different candidates ran. Biden ran unopposed. And it’s July, not April. Biden has a full plate. First post-Dobbs elex. Harris can win.

Tx for that link.. I certainly acknowledge the arguments, and have agreed with them. Nothing need happen to Biden, other than acknowledging he no longer commands enough public confidence to assure victory. He himself said he likely would not have run but for Trump. He can leave the stage honorably.

In the durable good category that’s more or less unchanged from its original form, I can’t think of a more promising technology for humanity than the bicycle. Electric assist makes it the perfect primary urban vehicle. All it requires is protected free-flowing network. We have all the road we need.

the climate story right now is in a very weird state of flux a) the warming we've priced in is bad and really starting to show itself b) the renewable story is astoundingly good and getting better we are left with "warming is going to get worse but almost certainly not as much as it could have"

"The cloud" was such an incredible marketing move. Just fully leaning into the rhetoric that cloud computing is this magical thing that happens up in the sky and doesn't have impact on our environment or the sustainability of our labor. It's depressing how well that rhetoric worked.

Just by way of keeping plates spinning, Ivana died later that week, on July 14. If one accepts Trump personally handled documents the prior weekend (after the subpoena), one can imagine his taking possession of some of them afterwards. And again, why would a man bury his ex-wife on his golf course?
