I’d almost guess that on Twitter it was because people were blocking the ads because they were all for cryptocurrencies or cannabis. AFAIK BlueSky doesn’t have that problem.
Though it does re-raise a question that’s come up for me a few times:
How does BlueSky make money?
The general wisdom is that if a service doesn’t cost you money, you’re not the customer. You’re the product.
Usually that means advertising. But if not advertising, it typically means data sale.
There’s also nothing stopping people from building their own client that does prioritize easy blocking! Idk if you’ve seen but mute lists are a phenomenal feature on here too, definitely in line with the kind of mentality you’re looking for
